Lasagna is a dish of Greek origin and it seems that the corresponding term in that language (lasanon) referred to the type of container in which the pasta was cooked. The name has come down to us through Latin (lasanum) to designate both the pasta and the dish indistinctly.
What ingredients are needed for a lasagna for four people?
12 sheets lasagna pasta; 500 g minced meat (beef or pork); 1 chopped onion; 3 minced garlic cloves; 2 cans crushed tomatoes; 2 tablespoons tomato paste; 1/2 cup red wine; 1 teaspoon dried oregano; 1 teaspoon dried basil; salt and pepper to taste; 250 g ricotta; 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese; 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese; fresh basil leaves.
Instructions
To begin, preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the minced meat in a large frying pan and cook it until it is well cooked. Add the chopped onion and garlic and cook until golden brown. Add the crushed tomato, tomato paste, red wine, oregano and dried basil. Then mix until the sauce comes to the boil to simmer and add salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, in a large pot boil salted water to cook the lasagna sheets according to package directions. Drain and place them in cold water to prevent them from sticking.
In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta with salt and pepper to taste and spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the rectangular baking dish.
Next place a layer of lasagna pasta sheets and cover with a layer of tomato sauce, followed by spoonfuls of ricotta cheese and mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Repeat this process until all the ingredients have been used, finishing with a layer of sauce and cheese.
Cover the mold with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is lightly browned.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Finally, use fresh basil leaves to decorate before serving.

Its color is deep ruby red. The duo of French grape varieties results in a harmonious and balanced red wine: the Cabernet Sauvignon delivers its full, full-bodied character and the Malbec tones the blend with soft, sweet tannins, enhancing a unique combination of aromas and fruity flavors, ideal to gracefully accompany the strength of the lasagna.
