Tim Atkin MW Legend Winemaker of the Year

Recently distinguished with the first place in the Master Blenders, Mariano Di Paola’s name returns to the forefront of the wine world by being recognized by Tim Atkin as Winemaker Legend in his report on Argentine wines of 2018.
Di Paola’s prestige is not a novelty.
In 2015 he was selected by Decanter magazine as one of the thirty best winemakers in the world.
During the realization of the first Master Blenders held in Argentina in February 2018, Di Paola excelled with the Rutini Antología XLIV.
Twenty-five top Argentine winemakers conducted a blind tasting and scored the best blends.
Di Paola’s wine obtained the highest score.
In his latest report on Argentine wine, Tim Atkin highlighted another of Rutini Wines’ innovative creations: the Single Vineyard Malbec 2014.
This exponent of Argentine Malbec, from Gualtallary, scored 95 points in the list of the best 100 Argentine wines.
The American James Suckling, another of the great referents in international wine criticism, rated the same wine with 94 points.
Beyond the point of difference, the coincidence is not a coincidence: it is further proof that this Malbec expresses the best of the Gualtallary soil and confirms the exceptional conditions of the vineyard that Rutini Wines owns in the Uco Valley.
Tim Atkin is an authority in the world of wine.
This is his sixth annual report on Argentine wines.
The renowned British Master of Wine has been a regular visitor to our country since the early nineties and has closely followed the career of Di Paola, his Legend Winemaker for 2018.
According to Atkin’s report, this year the number of wines with a score above ninety points increased.
In his presentation he states that Argentina is making the best wines in its history.
