The origin.<\/b>“What am I drinking, where does this wine come from?”<\/span><\/i>asked the Cardinal.
\nAnd his voice echoed throughout the Palais-Royal.
\nIt was 1631, and the answer satisfied the prime minister of Louis XIII: he would have his own red wine, similar to the one he had just tasted and had surprised him so much. <\/span><\/p>\n

Armand Jean du Plessis, Cardinal and Duke of Richelieu and Fronsac ordered a dozen plants to be sent to the manager of his vineyard, from which fruits were born and from which he produced a brilliant, memorable and unique red wine of extraordinary quality. <\/span>Successive research has shown that Cabernet Franc is, in fact, the ancient grape variety known as <\/span>Balisca <\/span><\/i>(1st century A.D.), cultivated on the Adriatic coasts, under the name of <\/span>Romana<\/span><\/i>for the Spanish vineyard, and already implanted in Bordeaux soil, first called <\/span>Biturica<\/span><\/i> and then, <\/span>Vidur<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its primary aromatic precursors are usually raspberry, cassis, cherry, violets and menthol.
\nIt is agile on the palate and has an elegant, fluid and versatile style for pairing with a wide range of ingredients, textures and foods. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cabernet Franc at Rutini Wines<\/b>– <\/b>The Varietals –<\/b>Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc Gualtallary <\/span><\/a>Recently distinguished with 94 points by the prestigious <\/span>James Suckling<\/span><\/a>This wine is a great example of the variety that just served seduces with its garnet reds.
\nThe fresh and compote-like fruity hints, within a framework of spices, continue to define this high-end red, frank, distinguished and very persistent.
\nA juicy grilled steak with carrot and broccoli puree, or veal ragout, cherries, champignons and grilled polenta are just two of the many options to enjoy this wine from the Gualtallary vineyard. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rutini Cabernet Franc Collection<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

It shows dense, deep garnet hues.
\nRed fruits (strawberry) and a certain evocation of roasted green peppers win first the nose and then the palate. <\/span><\/p>\n

It has a natural elegance, after a few minutes of uncorking, and a light unctuousness that ends in a long aftertaste.<\/span>A chicken with fine herbs and potato cream, pork with plum sauce or a tenderloin carpaccio will be enhanced by its own qualities. <\/span>Trumpeter Cabernet Franc <\/span><\/a>Violet ruby, with hints of plum, this bright red delivers very light smoky aromas intermixed with notes of black fruit (<\/span>berries<\/span><\/i>) and, on the palate, it is agile, showing tangible acidity.
\nVery tasty and fruity on the palate, it reveals a tactile reflection of astringency; a way to perceive its soft and candied tannins at the same time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Different preparations such as beef stews, Neapolitan-style milanesa with papas bravas or grilled seitan, can make an ideal match with this wine.<\/span>The Blends<\/b>Dominio Rutini Malbec-Cabernet Franc<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The balanced blend of Malbec (60%) and Cabernet Franc (40%) from the Gualtallary vineyard was complemented by careful aging in French oak barrels for twelve months.
\nThis wine offers hints of red fruits, sweet tannins and roundness to delight the palate when served in a glass. <\/span>Goulash<\/span><\/i> with white rice, meat, chicken or tuna empanadas, or an assortment of smoked meats.<\/span>Rutini Collection Cabernet Franc – Malbec <\/span><\/a> <\/p>\n

This well-balanced blend of acidity and medium tannins was obtained from a combination of Cabernet Franc (50%) and Malbec (50%), aged for a year in French oak.
\nThe result was amazing: complex and concentrated aromas ( <\/span>berries<\/span><\/i>), delicate astringency and tasty fruity note (Amarena cherry) at the end.
\nLamb meat -in all its forms of cooking- or Creole dishes from the northwest of Argentina are usually great pairing recommendations, among others. <\/span><\/p>\n

Rutini Anthology XLVIII (48) 2016 <\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

It is present in 50% of the blend and combined with 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Merlot, which allows it to deliver a unique fruity quality (strawberries, plums and blackberries), delicate peppers and subtle notes of coffee that envelop in a full and velvety sensation.
\nThe 12 months in French oak that were lavished on it, encourage to expect a long aging, during which it can accompany stuffed pasta with lamb, dishes with mushrooms and mushrooms such as risotto or smoked cold cuts and spicy and matured cheeses. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
