Accompanying the Election of the Best Sommelier of Argentina 2022: Competition<\/span><\/h5>\n\n

On November 25, the 9th edition of the <\/span>the 9th edition of the Best Sommelier of Argentina Competition <\/b> organized, as usual, by the Argentine Association of Sommeliers.\nThe event, which took place between November 23 and 27, included numerous activities such as tastings guided by experts, seminars and talks with the most representative figures of the wine industry. <\/span><\/p>\n\n

Among the outstanding proposals was the dissertation by our winemaker, Mariano Di Paola, who spoke about the Gualtallary Profundo<\/b>He gave details of the <\/span>terroir<\/span><\/i>He also presented the soil specificities, heliophany and its incidence in high altitude terrain.\nHe also presented the label <\/span>Rutini Single Vineyard Gualtallary Cabernet Franc<\/span><\/a>This wine was born in this terroir, one of the highest in the winery, at 1,235 meters above sea level.\nThe <\/span>Gualtallary Estate<\/span><\/a>with alluvial, sandy soil, rocky surface and a depth of 0.4 to 1 m, has planted, in addition to Cabernet Franc, other varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gew\u00fcrztraminer, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Syrah for the production of our wines.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Another outstanding personality who shared his knowledge of the area was geophysicist Guillermo Corona, who researches the qualities of the climate and the most important winegrowing soils in Mendoza, providing valuable information to agronomists and winemakers. <\/span><\/p>\n\n

The finalists <\/b><\/p>\n\n

The trio formed by Delvis Huck, Alma Cabral and Andrea Donadio demonstrated their talent in the final stage that took place at the Mendoza Theater.\nIn front of a jury of 15 national and international experts, the participants had to prove their skills by overcoming different evaluations, which included the recognition of some wines and the description of others, as well as the accreditation of their training in soils. <\/span><\/p>\n\n

The winner, Andrea Donadio, who was entering the competition for the fourth time, is a graduate of CAVE in 2011, where she is now a teacher.<\/b>. <\/span>In 2015 she obtained the Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers and is already preparing to travel to Paris next February to<\/b> is already preparing to travel to Paris next February to represent Argentina in the 2023 World’s Best Sommelier Competition.<\/b>. <\/span> <\/p>\n\n
