Gran Malbec in the James Suckling’s Top 100

Recently highlighted within the top 100 wines in the world by Wine Enthusiast, Apartado Gran Malbec now receives recognition from James Suckling, who positioned it at number 20 in Argentina’s 2019 Top 100 with 97 points.

In this synthesis of the best of 2019, the celebrated American critic highlights the growing quality of Argentina’s premium wines, as well as their ability to express in an increasingly subtle way the specificities of the respective vineyards and each microclimate.

This is how he describes the Apartado Gran Malbec:

“This is a beautiful blend of the best Malbec from the vineyards of Altamira, Gualtallary and La Consulta. They are old vines, too. It is full-bodied, yet light and concentrated, with ultra-fine tannins and a bright finish. Polished and very good. Serious.”

Suckling recommends drinking this Malbec blend in 2023.

In 2018 it was also the wine of choice for the gala dinner served in the Golden Hall of the Colón Theater for the G20 leaders. It was also present at the launch of the book “Exploring the Extraordinary: 100 Years of Bentley Motors” at the Detroit Marriott Troy, MI, held by the world’s most prestigious car clubs: the Rolls-Royce Owners Club (RROC) and the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club (RREC).

The Apartado Gran Malbec – made by Mariano Di Paola and his team – is undoubtedly highlighted by its excellent ratings: Descorchados Guide (97 points), Wine Enthusiast and Decanter (94 points), Wine Advocate-Robert Parker (93 points) and Tim Atkin (93 points).
