Harvest season 2025

We welcome a new harvest season in our Mendoza vineyards. During the month of February we began the first collections of white grapes, the source of still wines and fresh and fruity sparkling wines.

Every year, the beginning of the grape harvest in Mendoza marks a crucial moment in our calendar. This stage usually takes place between late January and early February, a key moment when the grapes have reached their phenolic and physical maturity, achieving the perfect balance between sugars and acidity.

“This is not just another vintage, it is a vintage that really comes with many challenges, many beautiful things to do,” says Mariano Di Paola, Rutini’s chief winemaker. “We have all the enthusiasm and all the desire and the truth is that when you see a team that is happy that is contagious and when things are done with love they can’t go wrong.”

The harvest usually begins with white grapes, since they ripen earlier. In this regard, Mariano explained: “We have started with the bases for sparkling wines, both Semillón and Chardonnay and Pinot Noir”.

The choice of the exact moment for harvesting is fundamental, as one day too much or too little can completely change the organoleptic characteristics of the wine. The team of agronomists and winemakers know that harvesting is not only a matter of time, but also of precision. That is why they visit the Uco Valley estates every day to determine the moment to start the harvest according to the type of grape and the terroir.

“The team is very happy working with a lot of joy, a lot of enthusiasm and thinking, as always, that the next vintage will be the best,” concludes our chief winemaker, inaugurating a new vintage of hopes and great wines.
