Mirazur No. 1 in the World: Top Restaurant

Mauro Colagreco and his team have managed to take Mirazur to the top of the list of the best restaurants in the world.
With an authentic Kilómetro Cero cuisine, the restaurant led by the famous chef from La Plata is characterized for being a perfect articulation of the sea, the mountains and the orchard itself, where some of the keys to the success of this unique establishment are born.

From there come, for example, huge beets that, after being harvested, are parked for a couple of months to concentrate the sugars and flavor; then they are planted again to go through another cycle in the ground and finally they are cooked with a salt crust. This simple tuber, after a meticulous and patient method of elaboration that draws on various techniques, arrives on the plate cut into thin carpaccio-like slices and is covered with a caviar cream.

This is how Colagreco works. Although his imprint is felt in all his restaurants, at Mirazur he has reached a level of excellence that has earned him this recognition.
Earlier this year, the multi-awarded Argentinean chef received his third Michelin star for Mirazur.
Mirazur has no fixed or seasonal menu: it works day by day with what is available.
Each dish is a synthesis of the environment and a virtuous circle of producers who achieve the best quality by respecting the environment and natural processes. Colagreco took the top prize at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019, but he’s not the only Argentine standout on this exclusive list.
The Don Julio steakhouse came in 34th place and Tegui in 86th place.

In October, the list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants will be unveiled in Buenos Aires.
