Outstanding Decanter Award Scores for Our Malbecs: Recognitions

The Decanter World Wine Awards are an international international wine competition whose results are influential around the world.The evaluations are made by a jury of renowned experts and consist of a very rigorous process. The aim is that the products selected as the best are high representatives of their style all over the world.

The New World wines category includes wines from New Zealand, Chile, Canada, South Africa and Australia, Argentine wines were well represented, with excellent results and a total of 41 medals. medals in this edition for the excellent products of our viticulture.

During the 19th edition, some 250 wine 250 wine experts from all over the world evaluated a total of labels from 54 wine producing countries in different producers in different stages of classification, which concluded with a selection of the best exponents in the competition.

Made entirely from Malbec grapes sourced from our estate at Altamira80% of the blend is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and has a cellaring potential of 15 years.

At AltamiraThe grape produces low yields and when it is at the right moment of ripening, a great aromatic concentration is obtained, highlighting floral aromas on the nose with a predominance of violets and lavender, and a certain aniseed character. These notes are combined with others of cocoa and toasted notes. On the palate, firm yet round tannins are perceived. The finish is fresh and lingering.

Single Vineyard Gualtallary Malbec 2019

Made from 100% Malbec grapes from GualtallaryThis wine is aged for 12 months with 50% of the blend in French oak barrels and a cellaring potential of 15 years.

It is a very lively purple wine, with dense garnet reflections. Very aromatic, it surprises with its intense floral (violet) and fruity (cherry, plum, blueberry) aromas. It is very voluminous on the palate, where it displays a unique expression of both the Malbec grape variety and the terroir from which it comes. Red fruits and berries and spices (pepper, vanilla) are enhanced by the oak aging, which brings with it the typical accents of bitter cocoa and tobacco. In the aftertaste, a fleeting astringency and the successful acidity promise a long aging potential.

Limpid garnet red with violet reflections. On the nose, fruity aromas of plum, floral aromas of violets, and a spicy touch of licorice. The palate is typical of the varietal with black fruit flavors, juicy, fresh and with balanced acidity.

Apartado Gran Malbec 2019

Blend of Malbecs from our different estates, elaborated with 40% of Malbec from Gualtallary40% Malbec from Altamira and 20% Malbec from La Consulta and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. It has 15 years of aging potential.

It is an intense red wine with dazzling violet reflections. The nose is complex, elegant, with very diverse floral and fruity notes and a subtle aniseed. In the mouth it is a wine of great concentration, very long and complex. Its ample fruitiness and power are complemented by some characteristics of the terroir. The Consultation such as licorice. It has notes of cocoa and coffee given by the medium toasting of the barrel and is very friendly and rich in its tonality. It is a Gran Malbec, with a very long finish.

Collection Rutini Cabernet Franc/Malbec 2020

This is a bi-varietal wine composed of 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Malbec, with 10% of the blend aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and a 6-year aging potential.

It has a violet color with ruby glints. The nose presents spicy aromas of saffron, curry and smoke. Notes of menthol, cooked tomato and fresh oregano also stand out. On the palate it is a round wine, with a fruity taste of plum and cassis. Its well-achieved acidity gives it a touch of freshness.
