The Argentine Malbec chosen to represent the country at the great Gala dinner served at the Golden Hall of the Colón Theater for the G20 leaders was Rutini Apartado Gran Malbec 2014.
The icon of the Argentine grape variety accompanied the main course of the most important night of this summit: pork loin, morels, artichoke, potato and smoked cream, prepared by EAT Catering.
That night, after a reception, they were entertained with the show “Argentum”, directed by Ricky Pashkus.
Both the food and the show sought to highlight the outstanding characteristics of Argentina.
On stage there were traditional dances and diverse music, as well as breathtaking landscapes that changed to the sound of the music.
There were 84 artists on stage and 75 live musicians, as well as guest stars such as Julio Bocca and Mora Godoy. EAT Catering of Tommy Perlberger, Josie Bridge and Bruno Guillot was in charge of the food service and the decoration was the work of designer Martín Roig.
Roig had already been in the spotlight for the Bicentennial Gala.
For last Friday’s event, the colorful decorations were centerpieces made with foliage from typical trees of the country, brought from different parts of Argentina.
President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada were the hosts of this evening which was attended, among others, by Donald Trump, Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron, Christine Lagarde, Justin Trudeau, Saudi Prince Mohammed, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Queen Maxima Zorreguieta.
