Single Vineyard Gualtallary Cabernet Franc 2016 No. 11 Best Wines according to Decanter
Rutini Wines started 2020 with excellent news: Decanter magazine has included the Rutini Single Vineyard Gualtallary Cabernet Franc 2016 in its selection of the best wines of 2019. With a score of 95 points, this Cabernet Franc is ranked 11th in the overall ranking and first among Argentine wines.
Instead of simply making a list of the best rated wines of the year, Decanter conducted a survey among its specialists to propose the wines they most enjoyed throughout 2019. From this selection, 117 wines were organized into three main categories: the classics, the unconventional and those that stand out for their price/quality ratio. This selection of wines from 23 countries was subjected to a blind tasting from which a score was assigned to each bottle. The jury, however, did not know which of the three categories each wine belonged to. This methodology allows an unprejudiced appreciation of each wine and avoids the weight of the big names in the industry, giving place to wines that have less diffusion and circulation.
The jury that conducted the scoring last October was composed of three eminent figures in the wine world: Sarah Jane Evans MW, Dirceu Vianna Junior MW and Tina Gellie, Decanter’s editor for the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The Rutini Single Vineyard Gualtallary Cabernet Franc 2016 was included among the classics and was awarded 95 points by all three judges. It is described as a wine of wonderful complexity: seductive, classy and elegantly perfumed with notes of blackberries, coffee beans and sweet spices. They recommend drinking it between 2020 and 2026.
