Rutini Wines introduces Apartado Gran Merlot 2021. With this addition, the Apartado line continues to deepen its single-vineyard selection approach through a new interpretation of El Cepillo’s cold mountain character.

This is a Merlot of remarkable elegance, expressing red fruit, spice and a distinctive freshness sustained by its natural acidity. Floral notes and a mineral profile add complexity and finesse. On the palate it is precise, with refined tannins and a defining balance.

El Cepillo: where this Merlot begins

At higher elevations and on soils of singular geological character, El Cepillo gives rise to a different kind of Merlot. The vineyard is defined by the presence of angular amorphous rocks of colluvial origin, deposited over a matrix of carbonated sands and clays known as caliches. These soils shape a Merlot of marked freshness, elegance and mineral precision.

A new look for the line

“The recent label redesign reflects this conceptual evolution of the line, strengthening the relationship between concept, origin and identity, and expressing more clearly the role of parcel selection as the foundation of Apartado’s character,” explains Juan Pablo Murgia, Enology at Rutini Wines.
